Ender's Game

Set in the future, where an attempted Alien invasion took place, a Special Academy is recruiting young commanders to train for a counterattack(involving the annihilation of an entire species). Ender, a talented cadet, faces many obstacles, but succeeds(in a way or another, you decide). The final test is the most exciting part of the movie. Although Ender passes the test, he learns that the simulation was in fact the real thing. Truly traumatizing. 

City of Ember
If you are into the detective stuff, this one is for you. It's about a future underground community, where you are assigned a job when you come of age. Yeah, similar to "Divergent", but here it is based on pure luck, and not on free will. Two kids, unhappy with their assignment, and life in general, find a way to escape from their doomsday. They gather the pieces of some kind of puzzle and find their way out. 




X+Y

Nathan, a math genius is preparing for the International Mathematical Olympiad. Being diagnosed with autism from a young age played a huge role in his formation, as if all the stress wasn't enough. The movie follows his experience of stepping outside his comfort zone. Finding himself no longer the smartest math prodigy in the room makes him doubt his abilities. Along the road, he falls in love for the first time.
